The Italian Job - a summary

Anyone who knows a bit about cars and critically acclaimed movies will recognise The Italian Job. The clever film has gained a host of fans and new versions of the picture, first released in 1969, have since been made starring beauties like Charlize Theron and Mark Wahlberg. Established actor Michael Caine takes on the lead role. He plays Charlie - an ex-convict who brings together a team of mates to steal gold bars from the Italin city of Torino with the assistance of a bus, two Jaguars and a trio of Mini Coopers. Many car chases follow through the rooftops, rivers, sewers, city streets and highways. The team are successful in robbing the authorities of their gold but the tyres of their bus slip on the street and they are left in a precarious position balancing on the edge of a cliff - the end credits begin to roll as the thieves work out how they will escape with their loot.

American Graffiti was written and directed by George Lucas featuring actors such as Ron Howard and Richard Dreyfuss. Initially released in 1973 the film was instantly met with positive reviews from the public and critics alike.
The storyline of The Fast and the Furious.

Thrilling and fast paced, The Fast and the Furious has a vibrant car racing story at its heart. The central figure is actor Paul Walker and the movie is about the world of Asian automotive imports. A police officer called Brian O'Connor attempts to track down a selection of robbers, who use modified Honda Civics to steal goods, by becoming friends with a street racing gang. He gets stuck in a street racing event in the desert in a 1970 Dodge Charger and has to race former convict Dom Toretto. In the final sequence Dom injures himself and Brian lets him run away instead of taking him to the police station for his crimes because he has fallen in love with his sister. The film delivers on its aim to provide cinema-goers with plenty of entertainment and drama.
